Thanksgiving Starbucks Survival (Gift) Card Giveaway

It’s not really a secret that I love Starbucks.  Ok, so it’s not a secret at all, in fact I think it runs along the lines of common knowledge.  I visit there often, when I am deprived and can’t make a trip, I make one at home.  It may not be exactly the same but it’s enough that I can survive until my next fix.

I don’t drink alcohol, I don’t smoke, I don’t do drugs, I don’t have any expensive hobbies or sports – so if I want a Starbucks tea a few times a week I call it reasonable.  This being an adult gig is hard and we all need a little something once in awhile to help us get by.

When I head in to the Starbucks closest to our house (only a 15 minute walk!) they know what I want.  The girls (and one guy) smile, make small talk and fill up my fabulous mug with hot, Tazo Earl Grey Tea! *sigh*

Sidenote: We use stainless steal mugs around here for our hot drinks on the go.  Whether we make them at home or buy them at Starbucks we use our mugs.  We are big fans of doing what we can for saving the environment and of saving money.  I did the math, we save $10 a month between us using reuseable mugs, making it a $120 savings a year!

They have perfected the blend of Bergmont, Lavender and a little bit of citrus, it’s heaven!

And, since I’m one of those people who hates change, who is predictable and loves routine – it is ALWAYS what I order.  (I also have allergies to the majority of blended drinks which means tea is my beverage of choice)  If they are out, I cry I leave.  It’s just what makes me happy.

Corey, on the other hand loves to try new drinks.  He’s all about the Pumpkin Spice Lattes, Caramel Macchiatos and his newest find – Salted Caramel Hot Chocolates. (I’m totally not allowed to have the last one, but I did try just one sip and it was amazingly delish.  Something like a chocolate covered, caramel pretzel!)

We are totally different Starbucks people but it works.  He’s adventerous while I’m safe.  He’s got a mega metabolism, while I don’t.  It all works out in the wash and either way you steam it – we both wind up happy!

Now, it’s my turn to make you happy!  It’s Thanksgiving week around this house.  We’re busy prepping for a bunch of family who are coming and so I’m in the mood.  I’m thankful for Starbucks.  I know it sounds lame but I am.  This corn allergy has taken so many of my favourite snacks and treats away, so when I find something I can still have and enjoy – I’m thankful.

I’m also thankful for all of you!  The readers who make me feel important, who love our kids and who leave comments!  So, here it is.  Fill out the Rafflecopter (a new system for me!  Follow the instructions on how to enter it’s easy) form below and enter to win your very own

  1. I'm not a coffee drinker but my husband loves Starbucks. His favorite is the caramel macchiato.

  2. I love the new salted caramel mocha! I'm the adventurous sort and like trying all the new seasonal drinks!

  3. I think it’s probably a good thing that Hope doesn’t have a Starbucks or else I’d be spending all my money there. I absolutely LOVE frappes. I know I’m prego right now, but I can’t resist the occasional treat of getting one when I’m out of town shopping. Right now, I’m totally obsessed with the Salted Caramel Mocha Frappe. NumNum! 😀

  4. Pumpkin Spice Latte is my fav. I do like to try different flavors though.

  5. I love iced and hot chai lattes, depending on the season. I sometimes try new seasonal drinks, like the pumpkin spice items.

  6. My all time favourite drink is the Earl Grey Tea Latte no water and depending on the size I also modify the pumps of vanilla… I am a Starbucks snob which Spencer makes fun of me for. That is my go to drink. Now that we live in Sundre it’s an hour drive to Red Deer or Calgary so I’m limited as to when I can get me some Starbs which is probably a good thing because we are both “emotional drinkers” but I think now it just makes the drinks that much better… but only if they’re made properly. It took a few tries once we were here to finally get a truly awesome drink. I also really should start leaving one of my mugs in the car that way I can save some money too!

Spencer loves all of the drinks. He was in love with the Mocha Coconut Frap over the summer and now he’s onto the Pumpkin Spice Frap with the coffee base (because you can also get just a cream based for those non-coffee drinkers out there).

I also miss my old baristas up in Grande Prairie. They always made my drink properly and it was always so delicious… now I’m back to the hit and miss of it being done right!

Happy Thanksgiving! I too, am thankful for Starbucks 🙂

  7. Yes, I have become a Starbucks fan also, I stick to the Chi latte, as it just has the right taste for me. I stopped drinking coffee and found the perfect chi at Starbucks. I too, am starting to use my own mug, it is great. Thanks Ashley, see you real soon,

God bless you all, Mom Kimmie

  8. I love the white chocolate mocha and caramel macchiato. I’m getting more adventurous with the coffee! 🙂

  9. I so love the Pumpkin Spice Latte – it's kind of ridiculous how much I think about it all spring and summer till it returns to the Starbucks menu in the fall.

    When I can't have a PSL, then I get a Vanilla Latte.

  10. My favorite drinks are decaf white chocolate frappuccino and the decaf caramel frappuccino. Yum 🙂
