Having babies is hard, everybody knows that (or at least everybody who has one or two does). The late night feedings, the spit up, the crying, the poop (to the armpits), the endless diaper changes and the worry, all mix together to make the job of being a parent difficult.
Knowing that most of us would never even attempt to have children, except the rewards they come with are far greater than those difficulties. The snuggles, the smiles, the cooing and the kisses make everything worth it.
But what if that wonderful was blurred by the worry. What if every time you watched their sleepy little eyes close as they nurse to sleep you worried? What if every gassy smile left you concerned that it’s a little more than gas? What if life had handed you more than you bargained for and you weren’t sure if you’d have enough diapers to last the night, let alone the lifetime?
There are moms and dads out there worried about exactly that! The statistics are staggering for the number of families in Canada struggling not only to feed their children but to clothe and diaper them as well.
It’s a thought that makes the rest of us fellow parents’ hearts shatter. This is supposed to be beautiful, and sleep deprived and full of memories to last you through the tantrums. It’s not supposed to be worry filled and riddled with fear. It makes me want to bring them all home and figure out a way to help each and everyone. But I can’t.
Then companies like Seventh Generation step up and change that! They have an amazing program, and an outstanding goal set and they’re letting Our Family Stone be a part of it!
Seventh Generation has made the commitment to donate 240,000 diapers to 40 shelters in BC, Alberta, Quebec, Ontario and Nova Scotia! That’s $160,000 worth of diapers going to moms, dads, families, and babies who need them! Amen to that!
They have sent out 4 packages of Seventh Generation Diapers worth $80 to our family for us to be able to take and donate to a local charity of our choice! We were able to head down to our local Food Bank to drop them off (photos to come soon!). We are so excited! Not only do we love making trips to drop things off at the Food Bank, we love even more knowing we can do something to help!
The best part is though, they didn’t stop with us! Now, Seventh Generation is inviting you to join in the giving! For every package of Seventh Generation Diapers purchased in October at retailers in BC, Seventh Generation will donate a package of their diapers to shelters across Canada!
How awesome is that? All you have to do is buy a package of diapers you need anyways (because those little creatures don’t come out potty trained, but they should!), you chose a company who’s products are excellent and chlorine free and voila! You’ve helped someone else!
Don’t have kids in diapers? No problem, go buy a package of Seventh Generation Diapers anyway then take it to your local charity and donate it yourself, then Seventh Generation will donate a package on your behalf. It’s a double whammy!
Now, I’m sure most of you are already members of the 7th Gen Nation, because you read already how much we think their products rock! But just in case you were on summer vacation you need to head on over there and sign up. Not only do you get great hints and tips but there are also coupons and contests to be found.
Please join us in this great opportunity to kick of the season of giving in a HUGE way! Send a parent a silent hug and buy a package of diapers. They say it takes a village to raise a child – let’s bond together and be that village!Disclosure – I am participating in the Seventh Generation program by Mom Central Canada. I received compensation as a thank you for my participation. The opinions on this blog are my own.
