It’s a Party & a Giveaway with Yopa!

In the early days of our marriage, when we were in the kidless but pregnant stage of life Corey and I used to have a special tradition.  Weekend evenings we’d eat dinner, then head down to Blockbuster and pick up the newest season of The OC, Prison Break, or One Tree Hill and then head to Boston Pizza to pick up two Strawberry Cheesecakes complete with 82lbs of whip cream.  We’d head home, make tea and spend hours watching our shows and indulging in the ooey goodness that is cheesecake.

I’m not exactly sure how we got started, maybe it was just a co-incidence that we’d taken dessert home one date night or maybe it was because I was pregnant and eating anything & everything in sight (ok, let’s face it I know where it got started…) but it began and we enjoyed it.   Once Bethany was born and I realized that what went in my mouth wound up on my hips, some of those traditions changed.

I miss those days sometimes, not the way life was necessarily but more the routine of it, and the cheesecake.  Oh, how I miss me some cheesecake.

The creative team over at Yoplait is helping girls (and guys) around the world with the cheesecake craving conundrum with their exciting new twist on Greek yogurt.  The driving force behind the Liberté Greek yogurt team has taken your breakfast to a whole new level, with Yopa Greek Yogurt!

The stirred yogurt comes complete with 5 yummy flavors – Mmmm! Mango Tango, Lotta Pina Colada, Va-Va Vanilla Bean, Ooh-la-la Strawberry Cheesecake and Very Berry Lush.  The best part is each flavor contains double the protein of regular yogurt, no gelatin, no artificial colors/flavors (meaning even I can eat some of the flavors) 0% fat, and only 80 calories per serving!

We have tried a few Greek yogurts over the past year and while some have been pretty good (Audrey likes the Liberté 0% vanilla), others have been dense, like sweetened sour cream and have left me wanting water, lots and lots of water.

I’m happy to report that we did not find that with the Yopa yogurts.  We gave the Va-Va Vanilla Bean yogurt a try and it was yummy.  A sweeter version of greek yogurt than we’re used to, we all likened it more to having an ice cream treat rather than having yogurt.  Another bonus when you live in a house full of ice cream lovers.

Now for some exciting news, 2 bits of exciting news to be exact!

  1. I usually have popcorn or some fruit but if I had chocolate or ice cream in the house that might be what I would reach for. That is why I don’t keep it around. 😉
