Life for me is busy. My guess is life for you is busy too. It seems that as the years go by we try to pack more and more into the same 24 hour periods and find ourselves with less & less “free time”. I can’t even tell you the last time I was “bored”!
Often times that craziness of life can make finding time to exercise difficult. We are legitimately busy, I know I am and I believe you are – so to say it’s an excuse not to exercise or eat well bothers me. It’s not making excuses it’s stating facts. That being said, there are ways to squeak in a workout in the midst of the craziness, to make healthier food choices even when it feels like “convenience foods” are easier and to put your health on the daily list of priorities.
For me that meant deciding that I was worth carving time out for each day to get my workout in. It also meant that carving happens at Butt Crack of Dawn, 5am. At first it was hard, but now it’s time I cherish, even look forward to each day. (ps. I’m NOT suggesting you workout then, it’s just when it works for me)
Being that it’s early in the morning, and Corey is already gone for the day means that I have to do my workouts at home. At the beginning, before I’d discovered the wonders & variety of FitnessGlo there were fitness DVDs. More than that there were integral celebrity trainers who catapulted my fitness journey.
If you’ve been around here for more than a hot minute you’ll know that topping that list is Jillian Michaels. I love her health & fitness principles, the way she challenges me, loath when she yells at me and roar with laughter at her sarcasm. From the first day time I did 30 Day Shred (which may have made me want to vomit all over the floor) to her latest Yoga Inferno or Hard Body DVDs Jillian can be counted on for a great workout, and lots of success.

Jillian Michaels Yoga Meltdown. Great for a lighter weight day but still it’s all sorts of sweat over here when I pull this one out.
These DVDs are a part of my go to collection and ones I still use on a regular basis in my fitness routines. Whether it’s your very first workout or you’re an ol’ pro these will leave you challenged, wincing to sit and sending you well on your way to success. Ranging in length from 30 minutes to 45 minutes long they’re effective & easy to fit into the tiniest corner of your day.
You can do this, making the choice to get healthy. I believe without a shadow of a doubt you can because I did. It’s not about getting thinner (though that may be a nice side effect, if that’s what you’re wanting) it’s about getting stronger, living longer and having the energy to enjoy this life you’ve been given.
